Beyoncé - Hold Up (Lyrics Official)

Lyrics***********************************

Hold up, they don't love you like I love you
Slow down, they don't love you like I love you
Back up, they don't love you like I love you
Step down, they don't love you like I love you
Can't you see there's no other man above you?
What a wicked way to treat the girl that loves you
Hold up, they don't love you like I love you
Oh, down, they don't love you like I love you
Something don't feel right
Because it ain't right
Especially coming up after midnight
I smell your secrets, and I'm not too perfect
To ever feel this worthless
How did it come down to this?
Scrolling thru your call list
I don't wanna lose my pride, but I'ma fuck me up a bitch
Know that I kept it sexy, you know I kept it fun
There's something that I'm missing? Maybe my head for one
What's worst, looking jealous or crazy?
Jealous or crazy?
Or like being walked all over lately, walked all over lately
I'd rather be crazy
Hold up, they don't love you like I love you
Slow down, they don't love you like I love you
Back up, they don't love you like I love you
Step down, they don't love you like I love you
Can't you see there's no other man above you?
What a wicked way to treat the girl that loves you
Hold up, they don't love you like I love you
Slow down, they don't love you like I love you
Let's imagine for a moment that you never made a name
For yourself of master wealth, they had you labeled as a king
Never made it out the cage, still out there moving in them streets
Never had the baddest woman in the game up in your sheets
Would they be down to ride? No
They used to hide from you, lie to you
But you all know we were made for each other
So I find you and hold you down
Me sing se
Hold up, they don't love you like I love you
Slow down, they don't love you like I love you
Back up, they don't love you like I love you
Step down, they don't love you like I love you
Can't you see there's no other man above you?
What a wicked way to treat the girl that loves you
Hold up, they don't love you like I love you
Slow down, they don't love you like I love you
Babe, it is such a shame
You let this good love go to waste
I always give that top tier 5 star
Backseat loving in the car
Like make that wood, like make that wood
Holly like a boulevard
What is worse, looking jealous or crazy?
Jealous and crazy?
Or like been walked all over lately, walked all over lately
I'd rather be crazy
Hold up, they don't love you like I love you
Slow down, they don't love you like I love you
Back up, they don't love you like I love you
Step down, they don't love you like I love you
Can't you see there's no other man above you?
What a wicked way to treat the girl that loves you
Hold up, they don't love you like I love you
Oh, down, they don't love you like I love you
I hop up off my bed and get my swag on
I look in the mirror, say, "whats up?"
whats up x 3 ?
I hop up off my bed and get my swag on
I look in the mirror, say, " whats up?"
whats up x 3 ?

EXPLANATION OF THE SONG:
this song is made like most of the bakongo used and use to do music, the video and the
song itself, mainly for the N'Gongui, the Mbondas, and the Marimba plus many other
traditional instruments and modern instruments like the bass who became vital in
KiKongo music, in fact it is a pure bakongo folklore song, the concept is emphasized by
the fact that they are Mama Kalunga, Koko Bilali which is a legend in the Congolese
comedy's world and in the mukongo culture and legacy because of his dancing and then
another fat comician which I don't remember the name, Werra put them there because

they represent the fact of staying close to the culture of origin despite the success, things
that Werra shows here by traditionally dancing and throwing a great amount of Kikongo
The chorus (refrain) it is a typical mukongo word :Imeni, which means it is over for me
there are no chances to comeback and can be about everything over work, over family
and like this time over love especially over a girl who left you for another man, but the
song meaning is way more deep than that since he replicates the life that mukongo people
and especially the ladies who were not influenced by the colonization, by the song
Werra mixes the song with KiKongo proverbs that are most of the time used when
something good or bad happen in regular life, in the lyrics he called his elder brothers and
all the village along with his mom to hear his pain and the sister which are represented by
the dancers, during and after his problem presentation, people dance since in KiKongo
culture it is normal to dance when you are very haply over something like marriage, son
born and so on or bad things like illness, difference or death especially in the deaths all
the people who knew the guy or the girl gone go there and cry even dancing most of the
time even it seems absurd from a western logic, the boys and the girls in these
ceremonies are always separated.
Is a remake of a famous KiKongo song
